What We Do

At Givers of Hope Orphanage, we provide holistic care and lifelong impact to orphaned and vulnerable children in Malawi. Our work is organized into the following core areas:
Residential Care
We provide full-time shelter for 150 children in a safe, clean, and nurturing environment. Trained caregivers offer round-the-clock supervision, creating a family-like atmosphere where children feel secure and valued.
Nutrition Support
Children receive three nutritious meals per day, carefully planned to meet their daily health and developmental needs. For many, it’s their first experience with consistent and balanced meals.
Education Access
Every school-aged child is enrolled in formal education. We cover school fees, uniforms, books, and transportation. We also offer tutoring support to help children catch up and thrive academically.
Healthcare Services
We provide regular medical checkups, access to essential medications, and emergency care. Children living with chronic conditions like HIV receive ongoing treatment and monitoring.
Psychosocial Support
Many of our children have experienced trauma, grief, or abuse. Through counseling, group therapy, and spiritual guidance, we help them heal emotionally and rebuild self-confidence.
Life Skills & Vocational Training
Older children receive training in tailoring, farming, entrepreneurship, and other practical skills to prepare them for independent, self-reliant living after they leave the orphanage.
Family Tracing & Reintegration
Where it’s safe and appropriate, we trace and reunite children with extended family members. We support the reintegration process with counseling, follow-up visits, and basic needs support.
Community Outreach & Child Protection
We work with rural communities to raise awareness about children’s rights, prevent abuse, and encourage local participation in child welfare. We train volunteers and collaborate with local leaders to extend our impact beyond the orphanage.

Who We Are
Givers of Hope Orphanage is a registered non-governmental organization (NGO) based in Lilongwe, Malawi, dedicated to transforming the lives of orphaned and vulnerable children. Established in November 2024, we provide a loving and safe environment for children who have lost parents, been abandoned, or face extreme poverty and neglect.
Our organization was founded out of the powerful personal story of Sophie—an inspiring woman who, after facing abandonment and life on the streets, rose above her circumstances to create a safe haven for children who walk a similar path. Her journey of resilience and compassion fuels our mission: to restore hope and dignity to every child in our care.
